Check out these spots for stunning views of Napoli
Naples is known for it’s narrow alleyways, and when you’re deep in the historic center it can be hard to see much past your own feet. Take a step outside the chaotic downtown area for a new perspective on the city. Trust me when I say, these spots have real wow factor!
Castel Sant’Elmo
Castel Sant’Elmo is easy to reach and offers one of the most stunning 360° views of Naples. Jump on the funicolare at the Montesanto stop in the Spanish Quarter and you’re there.

Excelsior Hotel
Take a break from Chiaia’s crowded Via Partenope and visit the Hotel Excelsior’s rooftop bar/restaurant for a stunning view of the lungomare, Vesuvio and Castel dell’Ovo.

Castel dell’Ovo
Visit the “Egg Castle”for an amazing view of Mergellina and the lungomare. The castle is easy to get to from Napoli’s main tourist areas. While you’re there learn all about why the castle got its peculiar name.

Capodimonte
Pack a picnic and head up to Capodimonte. The palace gardens offer lush green grass, walking trails through the old hunting grounds, and a beautiful view of the bay. Pop inside to see the old palace rooms and a great collection of both renaissance and modern art.
Parco Virgiliano
Located at the top of Posillipo, Parco Virgiliano is a great spot to catch views of the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Pozzuoli. See Capri, Ischia, and Procida while sipping on a beer from one of the many cafe carts!
Cuma
For something a little different, check out the Greek ruins of Cuma! You’ll get to see the famed Cave of the Sybl and the Temple of Jupiter, but best of all, the most breathtaking view of Ischia the area has to offer!
and last, but not least…
Vesuvius
A hike up Mount Vesuvius is well worth the sweat! From here you can not only see the steamy crater of the volcano, but also the sprawling metropolis of Naples below, along with great views of Capri, Sorrento, and Pompeii in the distance.
